What difficulties I face with 6768

The last I blogged about my car was about 2 years ago.

Time flies.

My housemate has already gotten his new car-A Black MyVi.

Now, 6768 officially will be the oldest car of all in my batch.

Recently, I went to Malacca with a friend to celebrate her birthday.

As expected, I was questioned alot about this OLD FORD TELSTAR.

I remembered there was once a female senior sat on my car. We were in a hurry to a marathon.

She lamented:

......Why there is mosquito one in your car?

......Can you drive faster?

......Walaoyeh, If i knew earlier, I drive la.... faster.

......Where is your left side mirror?

NOW, the questions repeated themselves.

"""".................Your car got no radio ah?

OYY:........ No la.

Where is your left side mirror? It's illegal isn't it?

OYY: lll (sweat) I use rear-view mirror... Sometimes I turn my head to the back. (Doing while demonstrating)

Reponse: No need la...

You got no warning signal sounds at the back of your car ah?

OYY: No la... No need................................."""""'

There was once an old uncle in a petrol station told me:

Wow, your car still looks good internally. Hardly can I see one old car like this.

I said: yeah, but difficult to bring girls out la...

He quickly nodded his head to show agreement and said:

Ya, aku setuju, bawa awek memang susah sikit la. Tukar kereta baru la...

Seriously, I do not mean to say negatively on people who comment on my car.

It is jus a reflection of my mind.

I used to feel inferior when girls sitting in my car comment like this.

I also really care about what other people think of my car. But now no more laaa......

On the way home to Batu Pahat, my mind was actually thinking:

Come on la... what can you expect from this old pity car? LOL.

This is a memorable heritage from my family. A car that brings kinship, friendship and enjoyment to my life and my grandparents. Why should I feel bad about this?

But, definitely I will get a better car in the near future. Perhaps a car like this? Ya, cool!

Breath Holding attack

Today I flicked through an old note book of a boy...
The boy has history of syncopal attack. Turns blue before the incident...
So, they suspected breath holding attack..

But, when I reached one page, one phrase particularly caught my attention.. I rubbed my glassess and inspected it clearly..... The diagnosis was:

BREAST HOLDING ATTACK!

Oh, my god, I wish the parents didn't see that! Otherwise, they will think that...the syncopal attack might actually be due to a breast holding attack!

END OF HIS JOURNEY

Last weekend, I was back at Muar for a reason.

A friend of mine during Sixth Form committed sucide. It took me a while to decide and eventually drive back to Muar to attend his funeral.

I was surprised, but not excited.

According to a vague source, he hang himself in front of the window with his room locked and was only found 2 days after his housemate noticed foul smelling odour coming out from his room.

There was no final words for his parents.

The housemates claimed that they still hang out with him 2 weeks before the suicidal incident.

The most logical reason they could deduce was my friend failed his thesis for the second time in a year and led to the suicidal act.

They also checked his PC to search for any evidence, but to no avail. One weird explanation they offer was my friend liked CSI. Maybe he was trying to leave some minute evidence for us to look for....

My thoughts:

1. Suicide is not the solution, not even the last resort.

2. Every life is valuable. We are brought to this world with a reason. Challenges, Failures, Hardships, Set backs and Difficulties are unavoidable. But, that should not be the reasons for us to end our life but to make us stronger and embrace our life with tougher determination. MATI MAU KUAT!

3.You not only kill yourself, you also kill the heart of the persons that bring you to this world, you are a murderer as well.

4. God bless the deceased. Hope he can rest in peace.

Modern Excuses for Absentees

In last 41/2 years of medical school, I seldom heard excuses for absentism. Perhaps, I was not aware of that. I, myself made a few as well, err, considered reasonable ones la!!! But, usually, I would admit I was late secondary to my lazy nature.

Surprisingly, in BP, I came across a few which are, in my opinion, interesting and adorable!

The rate of absentism here is awesome. Even though I admit, I am NOT referring to all people. But, the most important contributing factor still is because of the PORTfolios! But, people here won't use it as an excuse! because it  is simply unacceptable.

SOOOO.. what are they?

Let me tell you what I know!

Excuse No. 1

"......My house (Batu Pahat/hometown) was broken in........ " have to take leave for 4 days.
Okay, that sounds justified. Whether it is true or not, I don't know. But, I know there is not only one person who use this reasonable excuse. I guess nowadays thieves only target IMU students, even their house in hometown!

Let's say it's true. Would it take 3 days to a week to sort it out? Is it the reason we should not attend the ward.. Herm... Or u need a week to serach back what the thieves have stolen from you.

Excuse No. 2

".......I was in somewhere else doing something important, that's why I couldn't attend your session..."

Aiks, sounds urgent.  But, the fact is nobody saw u in that particular place at that particular time doing that something important! Aiks, where were you?

Excuse No. 3

"........I am not well lah.... Got fever....."/ " I got diarrheoa la, doctor..........

But, Siuw =-X.. tell you secretly, the person can have the same excuse again and again. Can you?
Recurrent fever? Recurrent diarrhea? Why not admit him/herself? or get him/herself some medications?

Excuse No. 4

".........My brother/sister/Uncle/Aunty is getting married......" Have to attend for 4 days

Okla, assume that you wanna attend  your brother/sister/Uncle/Aunty wedding which is far away from here, do you need 4 days? Awesome. Pardon me for my ignorance if I don't know any ritual wedding which takes duration more than 4 days.

Excuse No. 5

"............ My dad/mum/brother/sister/son got accident...."

Wah, this is serious. As a filial son/daughter or a responsible father/mother, you should take leave to take care of your dad/mum/brother/sister/son. But, is that real when the excuse is used again and again? I donno la. I hope my family is safe and peaceful. I certianly won't hope that to happen.

Haih.. Noone is perfect. Excuses aren't perfect as well. Excuses can't always justify on what you have done if it is not a solid reason. I can see some are really hardworking that despite their house is broken in, something really important to do, how ill they are, they still attend ward work after a day leave.

Nobody will say you are right or wrong. If you think you are right, you are right. If you think you are wrong, you are wrong. As a proverb goes If you don't want to do something, one excuse is as good as another.”!

Internist. haha

The medical specialty for you is.... Internal Medicine

Internal medicine is better than any of the specialties. When a patient comes in for a check-up, you can send them home with a clean bill of health. And when a patient comes in with high blood pressure, you can prescribe one of a wide variety of drugs, including beta-blockers, diuretics, and ACE inhibitors. And when a patient comes in with some other problem, you will be able to refer them to one of a long list of your colleagues.
